September 25, 1959 — July 26, 2016

Douglas L. Nauman, 56, of Manheim, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Eugene B. “Gene” and Lois Steffy Nauman. Doug was the loving husband of Deborah Kurtz Nauman and they observed their 38th wedding anniversary in March of this year. A life-long truck driver, Doug worked for Mid-Atlantic Xpress, Hackettstown, N.J. for many years. He attended Hempfield Church of The Brethren, East Petersburg. In his early years Doug played softball in the church league for Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy; and participated yearly in the Schreiber Pediatric Center Softball Tournament. Doug loved going to the mountains, and spending time at the family cabin in Huntingdon County, where he was the former President and current Vice President of the Black Log Association. His interests included: hunting, NASCAR racing, especially rooting for any driver for the Robert Yates Racing Team, Dallas Cowboys Football Team, and an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball fan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and cherished the time he could spend with his family. He will be missed by his faithful companion, a golden retriever dog, “Brady”.

Surviving in addition to his wife Deb, is a daughter, Crystal “Kris” wife of Michael R. Fisher of Manheim, four grandchildren: Corey, Jaime, Jordan, Cole, and a brother, Dennis E. husband of Lori Nauman of York. Preceding him in death is a sister, Donna J. Wilson.
