Dorothy M. Kautz

Dorothy M. Kautz, 96, formerly of Millersville, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Moravian Manor, Lititz. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late, John Jr. and Mabel E. Shindle Witsch. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late John A. Kautz who died in December of 1975. In 1988 Dorothy retired from Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, after working many years in the Central Purchasing Department. She was an active, faithful, and longtime member of Lancaster Moravian Church. An avid reader, Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, music from the “Big Band Era”, and spending quality time outdoors taking care of her yard and flowers. She had a life-long passion and love for animals.

Surviving is her son, Wayne J. husband of Pamela K. Sheppard Kautz of Bausman. Dorothy is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Moravian Manor Chapel, 300 West Lemon Street, Lititz, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
