D. Virginia Nissley

June 15, 1922 — September 26, 2014

D. Virginia Nissley, 92, formerly of East Hempfield Township passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Stella Witmer Nissley. Retiring in 1981, Virginia worked for thirty seven years at the former Hoffman Seeds, Landisville. She also worked at Keagy’s Produce Stand at Root’s Country Market. Virginia was a member of Kauffman’s Mennonite Church, Manheim and she volunteered at the Mennonite Home Gift Shop for fifteen years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting; especially Linus blankets for children.
Surviving is a brother, Hiram W. husband of Mary C. Bauman Nissley of Manheim and five nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, M. Irene Nissley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Kauffman’s Mennonite Church, 1355 Lancaster Road, Manheim on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Virginia’s memory to the Mennonite Home, Benevolent Care Fund, 1520 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, PA 17601.
