Charles W. Misal Jr.

Charles W. "Chuck" Misal Jr., 43, of East Petersburg passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Rupert and Charlene Taylor of Mount Joy and Charles and Rita Misal of Columbia. He was the loving husband of Karen M. Henderson Misal and they celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in March of this year. Surviving in addition to wife and parents are two daughters, Elizabeth N. and Amanda M. Misal both at home, maternal grandparents, Jay L. Miller of Manheim and the late Betty K. Miller, paternal grandparents, Charles A. and Josephine M. Misal of Columbia and E. Betty Taylor of New Holland and the late Rupert Taylor Jr., three nephews, one niece, a great niece and great nephew. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie J. Lefever. Chuck worked in production at Alcoa, Lancaster and previously he worked at Tri-State Trailer Sales Inc., Lancaster as parts manager. He was a 1987 graduate of Donegal High School, Mount Joy, and he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm where he received several ribbons and medals. Chuck was a member of Foresters of America, Columbia, Amvets, Columbia American Legion Post 372 and Loyal Order of Moose, Columbia. His interests included hunting, golfing and he enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers. Chuck loved to spend time with his family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 37 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Reverend David Woolverton officiating. (Please use the Main Entrance at the rear of the church). Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. There will be a public viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Chuck's memory to Loyal Order of Moose, P.O. Box 7, Columbia, PA 17512. At the request of the family, please write a memory or bring a special photo of Chuck with you to his service. These memories and photos will be used to make a memory book for his wife and daughters.
