Bettie Lorraine Ober

Bettie Lorraine Ober, 77, of 330 South Charlotte Street Manheim died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Omar Sr. and Marie Via Fair. She was the wife of George S. Ober and they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Bettie was a crossing guard in the Manheim Borough. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim and she was also an active life member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956 Ladies Auxiliary. Her interests included crafts, yard sales and visiting her cabin in Perry County. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and Maggie their dog.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Glenn Ed Ober of Manheim, George Randy husband of Cindy Fink Ober of Lancaster, two daughters, Terry L. wife of John C. Rohrer of Manheim and Tracy K. Armentrout of Lititz, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, a brother, Omar Jr. Butch husband of Gerry Fair of Manheim, two sisters, Goldie Gibble and Bonnie Campbell both of Manheim and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian and Celia Fair.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Father Francis T. Menei as celebrant. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, PA on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Please note: There will be a VFW Auxiliary Service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:00 PM. Please omit flowers.
