A recent survey revealed that nearly half of all
Americans plan to choose cremation for themselves or their loved
ones. Some people consider cremation a more natural process than
burial. Others have concerns about the environment. Whatever the
reason, cremation is the choice for many people.

 |
|
It's important to remember that with cremation,
you have all the same choices as with a traditional funeral. You
can choose to hold a viewing, religious ceremony, visitation and
a gathering after the ceremony. You may also choose to hold a memorial
service after the cremation.

Does
My Religion Allow Cremation?
|
| In
years past, some major religions did not sanction cremation. However,
today most permit cremation. We recommend that you speak with your
clergy at your place of worship to confirm that cremation is permissible.

Facts About Cremation
In the state of Pennsylvania, there is a minimum waiting period
of 24 hours after death before cremation may take place. All cremations
must be authorized by the local coroner where the death occurred.
Embalming, in most cases, is not required by law. The Buch Funeral
Home requires that all remains must be positively identified by
the next of kin or legal representative prior to cremation.
|
|
All cremations are done individually. Following
the cremation process, cremated remains may be buried, entombed,
scattered or taken home. You are encouraged to ask us any and all
questions you may have about cremation and the cremation process.
